As a Senior Food Technologist in Vienna, you will participate in Beverage application and provide technical expertise to lead and improve client delivery systems, according to our goals and EH&S policies.
You will report to the Application Manager for Beverages.
You will:
Application
- Complete daily brief-related tasks including flavour selection, product evaluation, and application development
- Lead evaluations of flavours in beverage applications for briefs, research projects and portfolio evaluations
- Select flavours and ingredients for projects according to specified requirements (i.e. customer, regulatory, legislation, cost) and suggest improvements for the most common applications
- Identify appropriate delivery systems and technologies for customer projects in specific applications
Knowledge sharing & expertise
- Be a technical expert and advisor to marketing, sales, flavour creation, and customers for specific applications
- Coach, train, and motivate technicians and technologists
Data maintenance
- Maintain the flavour performance data for the flavour portfolio through evaluation in finished product and capture of profiles
Environmental Health & Safety
- Maintain a safe, clean and organized lab environment following EH&S policies and hold others accountable for following these guidelines
Your professional background includes:
- 3+ years of experience with Beer, Beer plus, Radler
- Polytechnic or B.S. in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology or
- Master's Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology or
- Ph.D. in Food Science, Food Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Biology
- Polytechnic or B.S.: minimum 4 - 6 years of experience in a food applications lab, production, or related area
- Master's Degree: minimum 2 - 3 years of experience in a food applications lab, production, or related area
- Ph.D.: minimum 0-1 years of experience in a food applications lab, production, or related area
- Understanding of selected food applications, ingredients, and processes with practical experience in customers' food manufacturing environment
- 3+ years of experience with many of the flavour reactions/interactions in common food products
- Project management skills
- Participate on customer projects including customer visits
- Translate market trends into products for selected customers
- Instruct technicians and technologists
