The role:

The Head of Supply Chain and Logistics is responsible for the planning, procurement, distribution and handling of goods within the company network globally to ensure timely delivery to customers and the most efficient use of inventory, as well as the warehouse and manufacturing processes.

The successful candidate will have a commercial focus, great people skills and a strong track record of achievement in supply chain operations and management, to support ongoing expansion.

Key responsibilities:

  • Leading and working collaboratively with the Supply Chain Manager, Procurement, Transport, Planning and Warehouse Operations.
  • Refine and drive the implementation of the sales & operations planning (S&OP) and Demand Planning process.
  • Refine and improve the Procurement processes and managing the corporate tendering of major products and services
  • Manage the operational aspects of purchasing processes, monitoring performance of key suppliers and working with key customers.
  • Ensure the timely and cost-efficient delivery of products to and between locations
  • Work with Warehouse Operations Managers to ensure standardised processes are in place for the operating warehouses effectively and efficiently.
  • Work with the Distribution Manager to champion the introduction of new tools and processes to improve the use of stock across the network.
  • Work with National Stock Controller and State Stock controllers to optimise the use of Inventory within the warehouse and retail networks.

About you:
  • Tertiary qualifications Business, Commerce, Logistics, Supply Chain or other relevant fields.
  • A proven leader with broad experience across supply chain management, logistics and warehouse management, and stock control.
  • Demonstrated success in a complex, international wholesaling, manufacturing, or retailing organisation.
  • Natural leadership, strong communication skills, and the ability to develop effective working relationships with customers, colleagues, suppliers and stakeholders.
  • A strategic thinker with an operational focus – the ability to see the big picture and map the practical pathways to achieve it.
  • Commercial acumen, strong analytical skills and good attention to detail.
  • A stickler for good procedure, safety and quality-focused process that delivers positive customer and business outcomes.
